Education leadership and student wellbeing

President, Aotearoa New Zealand Education & Exchange Council

Clare provides strategic leadership for the Council and its education-led exchange work. She brings a strong background in classroom teaching, educational leadership, student wellbeing, curriculum development and international education practice.

As a nationally recognised educator and published author, Clare has worked across learning design, school engagement and student-centred programme development. Her work supports exchange programmes that are safe, purposeful and grounded in real learning rather than simple sightseeing.

Within the Council, Clare contributes professional judgement on programme design, educator participation, pastoral care, cross-cultural communication and the learning value of youth exchange. She helps ensure that young people are supported to build confidence, curiosity, empathy and intercultural understanding.
